What is a Logo Design Brief?

FAQ, Logo Design FAQJanuary 5, 2016Blueice

A design brief is a document that a client gives to a designer which specifies in as much details as possible what they are looking for in the design of their logo and/or other graphic elements.  The more information that the client supplies, the more the final design is likely to match their requirements.

A design brief can come in many forms and contain different levels of detail of information.  In general, a good logo LDB-Smalldesign brief should contain the following:

  • Background information regarding your business
  • Information about your target markets and customers
  • Details of your company values, culture and ethos
  • What shapes and colours you prefer
  • What colours and shapes best represent your brand
  • Which brands you like and which you dislike – either within or outwith your industry

We have created a FREE Logo Design Brief Template to help you create a design brief that will enable your designer to create a logo that best represents your business.

At BlueIce Brands we prefer to work with our clients to create the design brief as this ensure that we have a very clear understanding of their business and their requirements.

We also offer a Logo Ideas Generation Workshop where we work with you and your key staff to brainstorm ideas for your ne logo.  This has the added advantage on involving others within your business in the process which can be highly beneficial when implementing the new logo.
